On Wednesday, November 24th at 6:30pm the Heart and Stroke Foundation in partnership with Island First Aid Services and Scotiabank are providing FREE CPR and AED sessions at the Community Gardens Arena Complex. We have called this event CPR for Hockey Fans as we are putting it on in community arenas across the Island, but these sessions are for any community member who would like to learn the basic life saving skills.
These sessions are an hour to hour and half long and will cover
- Basic CPR for children and Adults
- Choking in children and adults
- How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Heart and Stroke staff will also be present to provide health prevention resources such as sugar sweetened beverages and nutrition, physical activity, stress management etc.
