Kensington Relay for Life – 2017 Event Update

Notice from the Kensington Relay for Life Committee:

Due to declining participation at the Kensington Relay in recent years in spite of the efforts of staff, dedicated volunteers and the support of the community. Given all this, we have recommended not having a standalone Relay in Kensington this year and are hoping everyone will join either the Summerside or Charlottetown Relays. For info on registering for these events, please visit www.relayforlife.ca or contact Gail at gail.macdonald@pei.cancer.ca.
There Kensington Relay for Life Committee has become the “Kensington Independent Fundraising Committee” and has joined forces with two already existing events that in the past were to support the Kensington Relay: The Black Dress Soiree and The Hoedown for Hope.

Black Dress Soiree – a night to celebrate women! Leave the men and kids at home for a spectacular ladies night out. The Black Dress Soiree is back for its 6th year and it’s going to bigger and better than ever. There will hors d’oeuvres, a chance to win some great prizes, and entertainment will be provided by Phase II. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/blackdresssoiree, at Mel’s Petro in Kensington, Silhouette 11 in Summerside, or the Canadian Cancer Society office. There are a limited number, so get them before they are gone! Proceeds will go to support women’s cancers on PEI.
