Kensington site of peewee AAA baseball tournament this weekend

The Cornwall/Kensington Cougars will host a six-team tournament that begins on Friday evening, continues throughout the day on Saturday and will conclude with the playoffs on Sunday.

All 12 games, including three on Friday, six on Saturday and three on Sunday, will be played on the Rink and Legion Fields, which are both located behind Community Gardens.

Summerside, West Prince, Sherwood, Charlottetown and Cardigan will also participate in the tournament. All six teams play in the seven-team P.E.I. Peewee AAA Baseball League, which also includes Stratford.

Each team will play three round-robin games, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals on Sunday at 11 a.m. The semifinals will feature the first-place team taking on the fourth-place squad, and the second- and third-place teams clashing.
The winners will then meet in the winner-take-all final at 2 p.m., or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the last semifinal game.
