Kensington’s new business park is officially open

 

Kensington, Prince Edward Island,  November 18, 2022 –  Today, Heath MacDonald, Member of Parliament from Malpeque,; the Honourable Matthew MacKay, Minister of Social Development and Housing, on behalf of the Honourable Bloyce Thompson, Minister of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture, and His Worship Rowan Caseley, Mayor of Kensington, announced the official opening of the new business park in Kensington, Prince Edward Island.

Residents of Kensington and area will benefit from growth in the local business community. The project encourages economic development and will help new and established companies to create new employment opportunities on Prince Edward Island. With support from the Government of Canada and the Government of Prince Edward Island, Kensington’s new business park includes 38 new full-service business lots, including 3-phase power, centralized water and wastewater, curb and gutter storm sewer, and telecommunications/Fibre Op.      

The project saw investments from the Government of Canada of more than $2.05 million through the Canada Community-Building Fund, and $700,000 from the Government of Prince Edward Island. The Town of Kensington invested just over $3 million in the project.
