Kensington North Watersheds Association
The Kensington North Watersheds Association is a community of watersheds working with residents, youth, landowners, farmers, commercial and recreational fishermen, and industry towards something we all want and need: Clean Water.
We are mainly involved in stream restoration, tree planting, watershed planning, and supporting our local farmers and fishermen when we can on watershed issues. We are an incorporated body, governed by a volunteer board with a small staff.

Kensington Lion’s Club
Lions Club members are civic-minded persons who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Their volunteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care, to addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide.

Royal Canadian Legion
Branch # 9, Kensington, Prince Edward Island
The Royal Canadian Legion was founded upon principles which endure today and will serve well all those who belong now, and who may belong in the future. These principles are:
- That the sacrifice made by so many shall not be in vain and we shall strive to maintain unity in our nation, together with our constant endeavor to promote and maintain peace, goodwill, and freedom within our country and throughout the world, so that all citizens may be worthy of the sacrifice made by them.
- That those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces of our Country, together with their widows and dependants, shall be fully and adequately represented in all the councils of the Royal Canadian Legion.
- Future ex-service persons shall enjoy the same privileges in perpetuity.
- The branch has an active Ladies Auxiliary, who also cater to our functions. The Branch is available for banquets, weddings, special functions, benefits and meetings.
Members, new members, visitors and guests (19 years and older) are welcome.

Kensington Veterans Memorial Military Museum
The Kensington Veterans Memorial Military Museum, which is affiliated with the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The Museum is open from July 1st to the end of September, six days a week, and to the end of November by appointment. The Museum houses many artifacts from World War I, World War II, and the Korean Conflict, and is second to none.
New London Community Complex
The New London Complex is the cultural hub in the community of New London. This is a tribute to the commitment of numerous volunteers and valued employees.
With backing and assistance from the Malpeque Bay Credit Union and a vision from people in communities of French River, Park Corner, Spring Brook, Long River, New London, Clinton, Stanley Bridge, Graham’s Road and North Granville. The New London Complex was purchased and established in 1996. Immediately following the purchase a board of directors was put in place consisting of 10 directors.
Volunteers are the strength and character of this organization; giving numerous hours; contributing their time and expertise to the continuation of the complex. The progression of this organization brought them to a place where they needed to hire a food manager, cooks and a janitor. Thus, giving them the staff needed to establish themselves as a place to hold banquets, weddings and community events.
The size of the building became a major drawback for the ever growing complex. The board decided to renovate in 2006. As a result, giving the New London Complex the exceptional structure it has today.
The New London Complex has become a mainstay in the Community, due to the success of the Sunday Brunch. On any given Sunday the complex hosts at least 500 people from all ends of the Island. People come not only for the food but also the atmosphere that is created by meeting old and new friends.
The New London Community Complex serves the Community well and is a shining example of what a few dedicated volunteers can do to make a small business successful.
The Kensington & Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to present the New London Community Complex with the Committees Choice Award at the Business Awards of Excellence Gala in October of 2008.
Indian River Festival
St. Mary’s Church, a fine example of the French Gothic influence, was built in 1902 by Island architect, William Critchlow Harris. The Harris trademark, a rib-vaulted or groined ceiling, enhances the quality of sound and archives this with the use of fir, pine, spruce, maple, and birch throughout the building.
Today, St. Mary’s remains the architectural and acoustical treasure that William Harris envisioned; the perfect setting for voice and instruments to celebrate wonderful music. It has been said that the natural acoustics of St. Mary’s rates as one of the top ten places to perform in the world.
Since 1996, the Indian River Festival has arranged for some of the best classical musicians in North America and Europe to perform at St. Mary’s.
