A GANG PLOUGH turns two sods at a time when ploughing, as opposed to a single plough, which only turned one. Three horses were needed in order to operate this machinery, whereas the single plough only required two horses. This horse-driven plough was used as late as the nineteen-forties and was the last plough of its kind before the coming of tractors.
