TURNIP SOWER used for sowing turnip and other small seeds. The wheel marker made a mark in the soil for seeds to fall into. The seeds were placed in a compartment that could be adjusted according to the size of seed to be sown. The chain would drag along the ground and cover up the seeds as they were sown. However, the farmer still needed to go back over the rows with a roller to ensure that the seeds were completely covered.
