Kensington Regional High School was built in 1963. The new high school was built to accommodate students from twenty districts from the surrounding areas. Each community discontinued teaching upper grade education and the students began being bused into Kensington. The school opened with nine teachers, and the number increased to thirty one teachers by 1971-1972. In the early 1970s, there were approximately 600 students attending the high school. Although the number significantly dropped to less than 400, in recent years attendance has continued to climb. Today, the school has 440 students in attendance and twenty-six teachers.
