Earle Semple began his racing career at age nine and actively participated in the racing industry for thirty years. He raced in the United States for approximately twenty years, on tracks located in New Hampshire, New York and Massachussets. He also had the distinction of racing on every track in the state of Maine. Some have suggested that Mr. Semple could have gone on to become one of the finest horsemen in all of North America if he had chosen to leave his native home on Prince Edward Island. In fact, one of his contemporaries insisted that Earle Semple knew more about horses and racing in his sleep than many knew while awake and driving on the track. Mr. Semple won twenty-five hundred recorded races during his career.
