Elementary students were taught at the old high school-- built in 1955-- until the sixth school in Kensington's history was completed in 1976. Many of the schools in the surrounding areas had continued to teach the elementary grades until their schools were closed in the mid-1970's. Children from many rural communities began to be bused into Kensington to the new Queen Elizabeth Elementary School. The school has twenty six teachers and teaches grades from one to six.
