Three railway stations were built in Kensington. The third Kensington railway station was built in 1904–1905 and was designed by C. R. Chappell. It was said to be the most elaborate railway station on Prince Edward Island. It was constructed by the M. F. Schurman Company at a cost of $5,000. The new building was built with grey fieldstone, which had drifted onto the Western part of the Island centuries ago. The stones were embedded in the walls with cement. The building frontage was 68x28 feet. Much attention was given to the interior of the station. The office was nicely panelled in North Caroline pine and ash, and the waiting rooms in ash. Waiting rooms were at either end, one for women and one for men.
