Gene MacLellan (1940–1995) performed many of his original recordings in venues across Prince Edward Island during the mid-sixties and early seventies. Although he recorded two albums and made several television appearances, Gene MacLellan will always be remembered most for his song-writing ability. Two of his most famous songs, “Snow Bird” and “Put Your Hand in the Hand,” have been recorded by many famous singers, including Anne Murray, Elvis Presley, Joan Baez, Bing Crosby and Count Basie.
