Reuben Tuplin's second general store (c. 1910). Tuplin built his first store in 1875, but it burned to the ground in 1889, in a fire started by tobacco ashes. The day after, Tuplin swore he would open a new store, and true to his word, had this magnificent building up and running exactly 365 days later. But in 1924, his establishment was levelled by flames again, in a fire that nearly gutted Kensington's commercial district. (Historical Society)
