Christmas Parade and Festivities

The Town of Kensington is holding its 10th Annual Town Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 1st, 2013. The Parade begins at the Community Gardens Complex at 5:00pm and will end at the Kensington Train Station.

Businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate in the parade by entering a vehicle or decorated float. All float entries are to meet at Community Gardens Complex by 4:00pm, and there is no fee to enter. There are prizes available for Best Business, Youth and Non-Profit Floats. The Town of Kensington Float will be collecting non-perishable food items, so watch for staff and councillors along the parade route.

Residents are also encouraged to take part in the Gingerbread House Decorating Contest. Take your decorated Gingerbread House to the Island Stone Pub between 2:00-4:00pm before the parade, and be eligible to win movie passes. The houses will be on display at the Train Station after the parade.

All residents of Kensington and surrounding areas are invited to watch the parade and take part in the celebrations that will follow at the Kensington Train Station. There will be hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies and Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The Ceremonial Tree Lighting will take place at 6:30.

The Town of Kensington, as part of their Christmas celebrations, will be choosing the three best decorated homes and best decorated business on December 18th. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the Christmas Decorating Contest to ensure Kensington is looking and feeling festive.
