Although the weather was chilly, the Old Time Parade had many great entries: the Kensington Girl Guides showed up in their seventies uniforms and hippie gear to represent the 1970’s, the Kensington Heritage Library donned in 1930’s dresses to represent the year they opened their doors in Kensington, and the grad class at KISH put on some tunes and danced in a 1950’s sock hop.
The parade judges were Glenna Lohnes of the Kensington and Area Chamber of Commerce, former Town Councillor David Kiff, and parade judge veteran Louis Ellsworth. They had three categories to choose winners, and they decided on the following:
- Best Representative of the Decade: 1980 Thunderbird, Roy and Joan Mills
- Best Youth Float: Camp Keir
- Judges Choice: Kensington Vet Clinic
Thanks to everyone who entered, and for helping Kensington celebrate the 100th anniversary of its incorporation.
