The intent of the Share your Love of Kensington video contest was to get people thinking about what they love about Kensington, what makes Kensington such a great place to live. The video entry that received the most views on Youtube by May 1, 2014 was awarded the first prize.
The winning video was captured on Canada Day, July 1, 2013. Ron and Shirley Huybers, originally from BC, gave us a unique reason why they love Kensington so much. As of May 1, 2014, this video had the highest number of views, and Ron and Shirley collected their $500 winnings at Community Gardens Complex on May 24, 2014 after the mural unveiling ceremony.
The Committee’s Choice video went to Heather Harris, and her submitted video. Heather compiled pictures of local events with a local performer, and the result showed Kensington as a vibrant and active community. Heather accepted her $300 prize on May 24, 2014.
